Novena MRT and Connectivity From The Serra Residences

The Serra Residences is about eight minutes’ walk from Novena MRT station (NS20) on the North-South Line, and three minutes by car. This guide sets out where the line goes and the other routes out of Novena.

Novena MRT Station

Novena sits on the North-South Line between Toa Payoh and Newton. From Novena, the line runs south through Newton, one stop away, where it meets the Downtown Line, and on to Orchard, Somerset and Dhoby Ghaut before reaching City Hall, Raffles Place and Marina Bay. Northward, it runs through Toa Payoh and Bishan towards Ang Mo Kio and Woodlands. The station connects underground to Velocity @ Novena Square and Square 2, and its Exit A serves Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Other Lines and the Expressways

Mount Pleasant station on the Thomson-East Coast Line is about six minutes’ drive, giving a second line towards Orchard Boulevard, Marina Bay and the east. Toa Payoh (NS19), with its bus interchange, is about nine minutes’ drive. For drivers, the Central Expressway runs close to the south and east of Novena, linking to the city and to Ang Mo Kio, and the Pan-Island Expressway is nearby for journeys east and west.

The North-South Corridor

The Land Transport Authority’s North-South Corridor adds dedicated bus lanes and cycling trunk routes along the spine of the island, including a dedicated cycling route from Bugis to Novena, improving journeys from the north for buses and bicycles alike.

Walking in the Neighbourhood

Many daily trips need no transport at all. Shaw Plaza and the 2 Moulmein Road redevelopment are about eight minutes on foot, Square 2 and Zhongshan Mall nine, and Novena Park eight. The amenities page lists the rest.
